Cathya Beard I am from the South American country of Peru. I grew up in Ica which is on the desert coast of central Peru. I have been involved in dance and performing most of my life. Starting with beauty pagents and talent shows I eventually competed in dance at the national level in Peru before coming to the United States in 1997. Since that time I have worked as a professional ballroom and latin dance instructor.
As a mother of two children ages 3 and 7, I understand the benefits of exercise and dance for children. Also as a mother I tried to find a way to continue to be involved with dance and spend time with my children. I became a certified Zumba instructor in 2006 and since that time I am working to introduce the children of central Kentucky to dance through Zumbakids! Picture #1 Peru, Where I was worn.
